Mel Detector First Blog Ever

Welcome to Mel Detector's Blog Spot!
I decided to start a blog because I love hunting on Florida beaches
and want to encourage more women to join this hobby.
It's addicting!

What I use to detect!
Garret ACE250

“The Garrett ACE 250 is really lightweight and easy-to-use, good fit for women just starting this hobby.  It's a great ‘beginners’ machine, with a lot of functions like the upper-end detectors have. It's very accurate and easy to to read. I love it. I have pretty much figured out the tones and what I may be digging up.
I particularly like the ringing sound of coins ”

My Recent Targets!

Here are some of my recent (worth mentioning) finds along
Florida Coastlines after Hurricane Irma and during Hurricane Jose's powerful coastal winds.

This may be part of an old ship!
I haven't had time to research the possible age of this find!

'YEP' that is a 1940 Quarter dug out of the tide line. I didn't event see the date until I got home.
1944 Wheat Penny .  1952 Silver Dime  .  Unknown heavy metal object

Above are the only 2 pieces of jewelry I have found digging the shores so far.
These were found on the same day along the tide line. They are real silver and gold so I felt lucky!
